£3m investment to enhance ParcelXchange April 1st 2007 Provider of field service engineer logistics solutions and developer of the ParcelXchange intelligent locker box system, Business Direct, has raised a further £3m to underpin the business in 2007 and beyond. The investment will enable further research and development to add value to the existing network of 4000 secure ParcelXchange intelligent deposit and collection lockers, located at petrol station forecourts and supermarkets throughout the UK. From mid 2007 a more flexible, modular ParcelXchange will replace those near to capacity. By the end of 2010 the company aims to have a national network of 10,000 lockers distributed over 500 to 600 locations. The new fund will also help develop opportunities from Business Direct's specialist business: two-man, technical and same day deliveries to cross sell with ParcelXchange and 'in-boot' customers, to be able to offer a seamless service across the existing customer base in the consumer electronics, engineering and computer supplies sectors.
