New regional show gains support from big-name players
August 1st 2006

With eight months to go before the first regional event, Health & Safety 07 has already secured an unprecedented level of support. Joining the show's title sponsor DuPont is an exclusive team of Event Partners that includes: Aearo, Gore, Ansell and Principal People.

Additionally, Western Business Exhibitions is proud to welcome on board IOSH, whose regional branch members will provide valuable input for the conference and seminar programme.

Planning ahead Tim Else, Sales Director for Western Business Exhibitions' new Health & Safety 07 show explains, "We are delighted to have already secured bookings for over 25% of exhibition stands, and the event programme is well underway. Those involved with the planning of the show are representative of a broad spectrum of businesses within the health and safety industry. This ensures that the event will cater for each and every exhibitor and visitor who is responsible for the welfare of people at work."

The London, Metropolitan and Manchester branches of IOSH will join the steering committee, which comprises the organisers, the title sponsor and the Event Partners, in the construction of a coherent conference and seminar programme. Points for discussion will be tailored to address the concerns most relevant in each region at the time, but typically, the seminar topics will include:

  • Legal and regulatory updates
  • Selection, use and maintenance of PPE
  • Risk assessment best practice
  • Slips, trips and fall prevention

North and South Aimed specifically at regional business communities, Health & Safety 07 provides industrial, commercial and public sector organisations with a cost-effective alternative to traditional health and safety shows. With the potential to attract thousands of visitors responsible for the health & safety of their workforce, the new show in Sandown, Surrey in February and Bolton, Lancashire in October, offers exhibitors a golden opportunity to reach more regional target markets than ever before:

  • Door-step access to both big and small players in the market
  • First-hand experience of seeing the very latest safety solutions
  • The opportunity to learn about new and existing legislative issues
  • Information on local safety issues
  • The opportunity to benefit from reduced costs at a smaller venue.

Backing the initiative Jim Findlay, Gore Workwear Associate said: "Gore products are used widely in the workwear sector and we pride ourselves on product innovation as well as helping to create products that are fit for the end user. We support Health and Safety initiatives, exhibitions and trade magazines in the UK, across Europe and globally. Any new initiatives that support, inform and educate those in industry are considered important and taken seriously by Gore. As a result we are supporting Health and Safety 07, and are proud to bring our areas of expertise to the steering committee for the benefit of all."

Aearo, whose product ranges include world-leading brands in hearing protective products, eye protection, communications, helmets and visors is delighted to have come onboard. Nicola Whitehead , European E.A.R Brand Manager commented, "We normally exhibit at the large national Health and Safety shows and while these continue to be an important part of our marketing activity we feel that we don't always get a representation of local industry and smaller companies. In addition we feel that putting on an event with relevant educational seminars gives an added incentive for safety personnel to attend and will hopefully provide an informative and interesting event to participate in. It is important to Aearo to be a part of the steering committee, as one of Aearo's main strategies is end user training and education, which fits excellently with HSM's objective for these events. We hope to be a part of providing not only an exhibition but a full informative day keeping people up to date with heath and safety products, changes in legislation and other relevant issues."

Principal People are acknowledged as the market leaders in health, safety and environmental recruitment and training, offering health and safety jobs and training for clients and candidates in a wide range of industry areas.

Linda Bazant, Managing Director said, "Principal People are pleased to be able to support this event which we believe has added value for regional SME's who would otherwise suffer lost business opportunities by their inability to attend national exhibitions as they find long distance travel is both time consuming and cost prohibitive. This exhibition brings the local HSE community together and encourages regional relationships which are easier to maintain.

We feel that we have a lot to offer by contributing as a member of the steering team on many of the issues that are important to our clients such as training standards, careers advice, risk issues and up to date legislation information."

Paul Clow at DuPont substantiated, "I see this development as being perfectly aligned with our strategy to bring knowledge and product together. Health + Safety 07 gives us the opportunity to team up with other PPE manufacturers to bring an even more comprehensive package of education and products to a local audience."

Keeping abreast of industry innovations and your responsibilities Whatever your business, Health & Safety 07 provides the ideal opportunity for you to keep up to date with the latest information on national and local health and safety issues, legal requirements and a host of products and services including Personal Protective Equipment, respiratory protection, gas detection, fall arrest and prevention, machinery safety, training and first aid equipment.
