500 Kombi's sold in six months
December 1st 2007

Jungheinrich has sold over 500 of its Kombi EKX 5 Series order picker/stackers globally since launching six months ago.

The series uses RFID to enhance performance and safety. Transponders set in the floor automatically adjust the truck's speed as it travels around the warehouse or distribution centre and can be set to ensure that, for example, the truck automatically slows down when it reaches the end of an aisle and reduces speed in poor quality floor areas or when carrying sensitive goods. "We launched the EKX at LogiMAT in February of this year and the response has been overwhelming," says UK sales and marketing manager, Craig Johnson.

A recent open day at Jungheinrich's Warrington facility saw 50 local clients assess the EKX Series 5 for themselves. "The reaction was positive – we expect UK demand for the new Kombi to help break the 1,000 truck barrier very soon."
