Heavy duty reach truck masts April 1st 2008 The latest innovation
from Yale is a series
of heavy duty
high lift reach
truck masts for the
MR 16-20 HD Reach
Truck. "The new design
mast is based on the
market demand to lift
full pallets above 12m
in complete safety,
with minimum mast
twist and sway –
which the Yale heavy
duty mast does
perfectly," says Paul
Garrigan from Yale
Europe. The Yale HD
mast has a capacity
of 1100kg at 600mm
load centres at
10,000mm lift
height.
To make pallet
location at higher
levels easier for
operators, the mast
features few cross
members to
obstruct the view,
and fork tilt and integral
side-shift are standard.
When handling pallets above
10m, fork carriage cameras
and closed circuit TV with an
eye level monitor in the cab
give operators additional
confidence.
The Yale MR Reach Truck
has a 3-way adjustable
steering console, multifunction
display and a
sliding padded armrest.
Yale says that for
experienced operators,
progressive fly-bywire
steering and close to
hand controls make truck
operation intuitive.
Operators can choose
from 4 performance settings
(slow, soft, standard or
hard) to select the most
appropriate drive
configuration for each
application. Garrigan
continues: "We have
developed proven AC motor
and control technology with
increased efficiency, offering
greater productivity at a
lower overall operating cost
– making Yale AC
technology affordable for all
reach truck operators."
Brushless AC motors,
simplified controls systems
and fewer mechanical
components reduce costs.
Garrigan concludes: "The
new Yale MR16-20 HD Reach
Truck has been extensively
trialled in intensive
production and distribution
environments and the heavy
duty mast gives even more
choice for high level reach
truck applications." More articles from Yale Europe Materials Handling: |
