Reach truck suitable for yard work
October 1st 2004

Narrow Aisle has launched the OutBack R5 four wheel reach truck.

The original R5 was acquired by Narrow Aisle two years ago. At this point the company commenced manufacture of the original model, while also initiating a development programme. The result is the new OutBack R5 – so named to convey its abilities when working outdoors or ‘out back’ in the loading yard.

The new truck has a specially designed four wheel layout with an articulating rear axle for enhanced ride, plus generous ground clearance for working in loading yards. It will now be available with the option of large diameter cushion rubber tyres on the load wheels for even better performance over rough surfaces or when using the truck over longer distances.

The four wheel layout is reported to give the unit superior lateral stability when compared with traditional three wheel reach trucks, eliminating the need for outboard stabilisers that tend to ground when working outside.

A wide clear vision mast has full tilting capability enabling easy engagement of the forks into the load, even when loading vehicles on sloping ground conditions.

According to Narrow Aisle, the OutBack R5 is able to operate in every known truck application including installations that require a stacking aisle performance of only 2.4m to load.
