Robust, reliable reach truck

Following a review of its materials handling fleet, Meller Home & Beauty called on Barloworld Handling to supply six Hyster matrix 1600kg capacity reach trucks.

Working to strict order plans and stacking up to 9m meant a robust, reliable reach truck was required.

�We looked at a number of reach trucks but after numerous demos chose the Hyster R1.6 as the operators found it very comfortable,� said logistics manager, Nigel Baker.

�Also the maintenance-free batteries were a bonus as we use agency staff during our periods of peak demand.� Other features include AC motor technology for faster cycle times, shorter braking distances and fast acceleration to top speed. The height pre-select option is also particularly useful in this application where stacking takes place up to 9m high.
