Driving down the costs of forklift fleets

addition to its portfolio of
auto-ID solutions for
industry. Zetes Forklift Fleet
Management is an advanced
wireless solution that
addresses the significant cost
and safety issues associated
with forklifts and other
materials handling
equipment. The company
says that the system has
been shown to provide a
return on investment (ROI)
within 12 months.
The system works to
reduce the high costs of FLT
vehicle operation –
concentrating on automated
service scheduling and
lowering downtime, and
fleet size reduction –
analysing usage and
downsizing accordingly. Its
other main features enable
improved operator safety,
using automated vehicle
check procedures, restriction
of driver access using RFID or
PIN system, detection of
training needs, and provision
of vehicle impact sensors and
programmable no-go areas.
Operator productivity is
improved by monitoring and
managing vehicles and traffic
