Storing more with 4-way truck March 1st 2010 Kingsbury Builders Merchants' in
London's Kentish Town replaced its
counterbalance truck with a
Combilift 4-way forklift and has
improved health and safety
procedures. Incoming deliveries are
offloaded on the road by the
entrance, and long loads used to be
lifted across the pavement and over
a 5ft wall with the counterbalance
truck. These can now be carried on
the truck's platform and
manoeuvred sideways into the yard.
The Combilift's 4-way ability has
also been able to increase the
amount of product stored by 60%,
avoiding substantial outlay on new
premises. The limited
manoeuvrability of Kingsbury's
counterbalance truck left no space to
install racking to accommodate
timber packs which typically come
in lengths of up to 6m. More articles from Combilift Limited: |
