BMHF Safety Award for FLEXI G4 June 1st 2007 The FLEXI Generation 4 Very Narrow Aisle articulated truck from Narrow Aisle FLEXI is the 2007 winner of the prestigious British Materials Handling Federation (BMHF) Safety Award
The BMHF Safety Award is open to any
company that has developed a
product or service that makes a
significant contribution to improving safety
in and around the warehouse or distribution
centre environment. Readers of Logistics
Manager magazine and other members of
the logistics industry, voted overwhelmingly
for the FLEXI G4, which is the latest
generation in the series of articulated
forklift trucks developed by Narrow Aisle.
The Award was collected on Narrow
Aisle's behalf by the company's sales and
marketing director, John Maguire, at a Gala
Dinner held during the recent Materials
Handling Live! Exhibition and Logistics
Conference at Stoneleigh Park in
Warwickshire.
John Maguire commented: "Operator
safety is a key consideration within any
materials handling operation and with
forklift trucks implicated in around onequarter
of all serious workplace transportrelated
injuries and some ten fatalities a
year, it's easy to understand why.
"Successful warehousing is always a
balance of productivity and safety, but
safety has to be the foremost consideration.
Forklift truck design has an important role
to play in safety and Narrow Aisle's FLEXI G4
articulated truck demonstrates how a lift
truck can be built to aid a driver's safe
practice.
John Maguire continued: "During the
development of the G4, Narrow Aisle's
design team set out to produce a product
that incorporates all the safety features
required by the North American market and
also meets all relevant safety legislation
demanded by the European Community.
The resulting award-winning G4 is, we
believe, by far the safest and most
productive articulated on the market. It is
also a truly global product and the standard
G4 design engineered at our UK
manufacturing plant can be used safely
anywhere in the world.
"The BMHF Awards recognise excellence
within the logistics and materials handling
industry and I believe that winning the
Safety Award not only highlights the
outstanding technological features of the
G4, but is also an acknowledgment of
Narrow Aisle Ltd's expertise in the design of
safe and space-efficient storage cubes."
Founded in 1964, the British Materials
Handling Federation collectively represents
