Energy costs reduced

Cold storage and distribution specialist, Yearsley Group, is switching the batteries on its entire forklift fleet to the Hawker brand from EnerSys. The reason behind the change is the enhanced performance, battery life and maintenance provided by the combination of Hawker's PerfectPlus battery and Powertech high frequency charger.

The HF charger specified offers energy efficiency that is said to be as much as 20% higher than its existing 50Hz chargers. The Powertech charger automatically detects the battery's level of discharge and will supply only the amount of power needed, and no more, to restore full charge. This means less power is required to charge a battery and energy costs per charge are reduced.

Highly versatile, the Powertech will automatically accommodate batteries of different capacities.
