Taking it to the Maxius December 1st 2010 Mitsubishi designers combine innovative
steering, manoeuvrability and comfort in
new tow truck
Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks has introduced a high-spec
tow truck to its warehouse range. The TBR30N shares
many features with its stablemate, the OPB20NE low
level order picker – winner of this year's Fork Lift Truck
Association (FLTA) Award for Ergonomics.
Designed for indoor use, primarily within the automotive
sector, the TBR30N blends operator comfort, precision control
and strength.
Among the innovations are its Maxius steering wheel and
controls. Designers at Mitsubishi have combined this with
progressive steering, automatic speed reduction when cornering
and drive wheel centring to deliver driver confidence when
manoeuvring at speeds of up to 12km per hour. A safe limit of
2.5 km per hour is automatically set when the truck is switched
to walk-beside mode.
The TBR30N's small turning circle, together with responsive
steering and a compact chassis, results in exceptional
manoeuvrability, says the company. 360 degree electronic
steering is available as an additional option.
The operator compartment is designed to be spacious and
uncluttered with low step height and chamfered platform edges,
giving easy walk-through access. The large non-slip working
platform acts as a 'dead man's pedal', allowing movement as soon
as the operator steps onto any part of it.
The suspended floor's textured rubber surface absorbs shocks
and vibrations to increase operator comfort, while a comfortable
backrest reduces driver fatigue. An adjustable folding seat is
among the truck's many productivity-boosting options.
High capacity batteries – ranging from 375–465Ah – maximise
shift lengths, while battery rollers and fast battery lock ensure
rapid changeovers. Downtime is further reduced by a 600 hour
service interval and RapidAccess features that enable quick and
easy entry for checks and
servicing. More articles from Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks UK: |
