Trade approved wireless scale August 1st 2009 Avery Weigh-Tronix has
launched what is claimed to
be the first UK wireless, trade
approved Forklift Scale
System. It can be fitted on to
any standard forklift and
allows operators to capture
legal for trade weight data
easily and quickly.
The company's Chris
McAllister says: "At a time
when margins are tight, our
forklift truck scale allows
organisations to improve
efficiency and output,
sometimes by as much as
two times. An operator can
lift, weigh, move and invoice
loads without the need to
visit a floor scale."
The option of a Wi-Fi link
further improves efficiency
by transferring data in real
time. If connection is lost,
the system holds the
information until the link is
re-established.
The new FLSC-05 Forklift
Scale System consists of a
robust weighing scale
carriage and a choice of two
in-cab indicators. With a
wireless connection, there is
less chance of damaging
cabling. It also enables fitting
to any type of forklift
including triple masted, stock
picking and guided models.
The scale itself simply
attaches to the forklift's
existing carriage and the
forks hook on to it. It has an
open centre area so the
driver can see the fork tips
through the centre aperture
without obstruction.
The scale has two metal
plates coupled together by
the company's Weigh Bar
sensors. These deliver
accurate readings even
when the forklift positions
change, when the wheels
are on an uneven surface or
if the mast is tilted. More articles from Avery Weigh-Tronix Limited: |
