Reducing bottlenecks enables growth October 1st 2006 Specialist paper manufacturer James Cropper' was suffering from bottlenecks due to traditional manual packaging and handling of diverse range of products.
To support growth James Cropper decided to address this problem and used a computer o produce a 'what if' scenario for different product volumes, and mixes It concluded that more automated vehicles, including laser-guided vehicles should be used.
Aetna won the contract to supply these and prepared a solution based on four Euroimpianti laser guided vehicles; one with clamp attachment to handle reels, and the other three to handle the multiplicity of palletised materials.
Aetna also proposed a fully automated pallet strapping, stretch wrapping and labelling line, which would work in unison.
Steve Crook, of James Cropper, commented: "Aetna won the contract for several reasons including the fact that it was prepared to take responsibility for the integration of several technologies from different suppliers – which others were not prepared to do." More articles from AETNA UK LTD: |
