Reels, rolls and shafts shifted

A new company has been set up to provide equipment and bespoke solutions for the handling and transportation of reels, rolls and shafts throughout industry.

The Reel & Shaft Handling Company estimates that there are hundreds of thousands of reels, shafts, tubes and rolls used daily in the UK in a host of industries.

It has already won contracts with British Polythene Industries for the design and installation of handling systems.

As well as a range of hoist-based equipment, trolleys, trucks and jibs the company has built five specialist machine ranges spanning pneumatic roll lifters, shaft extractors and lifters and gripper/hoists to compact shaft and roll lifters.

The company was set up by Steve Weston who comments "We can handle virtually any shaft or roll used in industry or we can design a solution - that's what we are good at."
