Making light of windows

From a design provided by Zenith Windows, Acres (Willington) manufactured 100 barrows for product handling. Modifications suggested by Acres not only simplified construction, but helped with handling efficiency and resulted in cost savings. Barrows are used to transfer windows from Zeniths production area to 45ft trailers ready for delivery. Products destined for one site are loaded onto individual barrows and strapped down with webbing to prevent movement and potential damage during transit. Barrows comprise a sloping A-frame structure fitted to a castor-mounted base. The base has stock-board covers made from recycled plastic that protect the PVC frames. Zenith was so impressed with the barrows, it placed further orders.
