Custom configured reel lifter

Arrowhive Equipment has supplied a custom configured Schlumpf ERH-500-PT-S mobile material handling system to a decorative products manufacturer in Glasgow.

The company had been slitting large parent reels of an expensive substrate into smaller, more marketable rolls which are then turned 90° on to pallets. The existing process was inefficient, and risked product damage and operator injury. To speed up the process the Schlumpf ERH-500-PT-S (portable reel lifter/turner) was supplied with a customised mandrel and special reel end support, enabling the handling system to remove the reels directly from the unloader.

The Schlumpf range of mobile, static and hoistbased roll and shaft handling equipment is available with a wide range of optional tools and accessories making them highly configurable and suitable for diverse application requirements.
