Alternative to forklift saves time June 1st 2004 Specialist off road vehicle manufacturer, Multidrive, has recently taken delivery of a Nu-Star Hi-Torque Power Pusher at its North Yorkshire manufacturing site.
While planning the new M8-40 assembly line Multidrives works manager, Jack Lee, realised the company could save a significant amount of time and floor space if an alternative could be found to a forklift or overhead crane for moving the chassis down the line.
We supplied Nu-Star with technical drawings to show how the chassis would sit on a purpose built pair of skates and left them to design and manufacture a method for the Power Pusher to move the load, he says. This has helped us implement the new M8-40 assembly line at the factory and is a safe way of moving quite a large and heavy load.
Just 1.4m long and 670mm wide, the Power Pusher has a growing range of modular attachments that enable it to push/pull a wide variety of rolling loads. More articles from Nu-Star Material Handling Ltd: |
