SPIDER flies with multi-level minicranes April 1st 2007 KNAPP says its SPIDER is a new concept in automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS). ASRS solutions featuring miniload cranes are commonly used in high density order picking installations. However, because bigger, heavier cranes are used to deliver higher speed, power and maintenance demands increase with consequent downtime often negating performance gains. KNAPP says SPIDER addresses this using minicranes on multiple levels. Smaller cranes mean higher rates of acceleration and deceleration are possible without the servicing needs of larger cranes cutting power requirements and operating costs dramatically. SPIDER can be configured up to 24m in height with as many lateral aisles as needed. Call the number below for a free DVD showing just what SPIDER can do. More articles from KNAPP UK Ltd: |
