Custom-built trolley October 1st 2007 The National Archives (TNA)
is running a much more
streamlined and efficient
service thanks to a new
trolley that has been specially
designed by Hako Machines.
The TNA, based in Kew,
London, produces documents
for visitors every ten seconds
in what is essentially a
continuous on-demand
production process for its selfservice
facility. Hako has
designed a trolley that can
be used with its Sherpa M
vehicles to transport this
valuable material. To
transport items from the
repositories to the reading
rooms, TNA is using a fleet
of Sherpa M electric
vehicles, equipped with
detachable piggyback
trolleys.
The detachable trolleys can
be wheeled straight into
TNA's map room where the
vehicle can't go, then
reattached quickly and easily
by the Sherpa M simply
reversing up to the piggyback
trolley and clicking into place. More articles from Hako Machines Limited: |
