Inherently safe automated crane

Demag Cranes & Components has installed an automated ContainerMaster crane system for Baxter Moving Excellence. A leader in international removals and storage, Baxter has recently opened a new facility in Carlisle, over half of which is used to store within 20 and 25ft ISO steel containers. To facilitate movement of the containers which can be stacked up to six high Baxter specified a Demag ContainerMaster fully automated crane system, developed specifically for the application. The solution comprises a 14t SWL overhead crane, with a four wheel crab equipped with two Demag wire rope hoists each rated at 8t SWL. The crane is inherently safe with fail safe locking mechanisms and feedback to the crane to prevent lifting if the container is not properly located.
