Custom variant
September 1st 2010 Engineers involved in a major
contract at Ajman STW, in the UAE,
contacted REID Lifting to explore
potential solutions for lifting the
blower motors, which were already
installed in acoustic enclosures at
the site.
The Reid solution, a custom
variant of its PORTA-GANTRY
range, was designed so the blower
motors could be removed without
dismantling the acoustic covers. The
lifting gantry, being lightweight
aluminium alloy, is portable and
easy manually assembled.
The custom design maximises
every millimetre of headroom
within the acoustic enclosure and
includes wind up jack legs that
allow both course and fine
adjustment in the height of lift. The
system is to be used across the
whole suite of 6 blowers within the
