Flexible packaging specialist, Printpack (European Division), has improved the safety of workflow associated with unloading finished reels from high-speed slitter rewinders with a custom stacker truck from the Reel & Shaft Handling Company (RaSHCo).

Printpack's standard reels normally weigh around 18kg each, but for larger products such as those used for multi-pack bags finished product weights can be over 40kg and are unsuited to manual handling.

The RaSHCo truck allows operators to safely remove finished reels from the line and move them on to the labelling, wrapping and palletising area. The truck cradle slides easily into place under the finished product reels, then gently pulls them from the shafts.
