Lightweight Energy Chain

igus has launched a new, low cost, lightweight version of its multi-axis Energy Chain for robotic applications. The original Triflex R 'enclosed', introduced by igus just over a year ago, glides around the outer contour of a robot without becoming hooked in and jammed.

Available in four sizes, Triflex R is designed to handle even complex multi-axis handling tasks reliably. Users can shorten and lengthen it at virtually any point for complete versatility and waste elimination.

Working in the same way as an automotive trailer coupling, the 'trailer' design principle results in a high degree of tension resistance.

Longitudinal axis torsion of up to +/- 380Â° per metre is possible.
