Robust and reliable February 1st 2004 Royal Mail is using specially designed LO2.0 low-level order pickers from Barloworld Handling to handle York containers at its new NDC in Crick.
When Barloworld was invited to tender for the contract, a prototype truck was designed at Hysters Warehouse Special Product Engineering Division in Italy. This was fitted with a dedicated cage that could hold six York rollcages. It was designed to eliminate the recurring faults Royal Mail has experienced on existing equipment. It is also more robust and features push button controls to hydraulically raise and lower the ramp at the back of the cage eliminating manual handling concerns.
The units operating at the NDC are fitted with TRAKA units that only allow specified operators to use the trucks, providing accountability and management reporting. More articles from Barloworld Handling Limited: |
