Rolling out new roller chain
October 1st 2007 German high performance
roller chain manufacturer,
Iwis Antriebssysteme, has
introduced a new roller
chain.
A new generation of
roller chains, Nanochain,
features a surface coating
based on nanotechnology
which acts like a boundary
layer to significantly reduce
the surface's coefficient of
friction within the chain link.
The new chain is said to
have a higher strength and
rigidity than conventional
maintenance-free chains
and is suitable for high
speed operation and high
loads.
In combination with
optimised lubrication, the new chains have a high level
of wear-resistance that is as
much as 50% higher than
that of the Iwis SL
performance chains and,
consequently, gives a longer
service life.
Operating temperature
range is from -40 to 230°,
depending on initial
