Greater productivity, less painOctober 1st 2007
No back injuries and productivity up by 50% are just some of the benefits reaped by Stauff since asking Handling Concepts to solve the awkward problem of removing coils of hydraulic hose from boxes at its logistics and manufacturing centre in Sheffield. Handling Concepts installed a rail system over production equipment and designed and produced a bespoke manipulator below. The manipulator grips the coil and lifts it from the box. It can also tilt the coil to suit the individual application.
By removing the need for manual lifting, the process is now significantly safer, and the equipment is providing productivity gains in terms of speed and accuracy. One person now does a job that used to require two or three.
