Speedy process cranes bulk up new kiln
October 1st 2005 Part of the development of a new kiln, Demag Cranes & Components has installed two process cranes from its BulkMaster range at Castle Cement’s production facility in Padeswood, North Wales.
The two fully automatic 23t SWL x 25m span cranes each have an open frame winch with a bucket to move up to 15t of material per lift.
Speed and efficiency have been the driving factors in the development of the crane system – they have a travel speed of 150m per minute and a hoisting speed of up to 85m per minute, providing each crane with the capacity to move up to 275t of material per hour.
Positioning accuracy to the nearest millimetre is provided by absolute encoder technology on the rails. More articles from Demag Cranes & Components Ltd: |
