Expresso delivers for Waitrose
December 1st 2006

Waitrose has selected the Expresso hand truck from F.

Parr to assist four of its stores with the home delivery of white goods.

Constructed from extruded elliptical aluminium tubing with polyamide hand protector grips and wheel guards, the Expresso weighs 12kg, yet has a capacity of 300kg, enabling it to handle even the largest fridgefreezer with ease.

The modular design means the truck is cheap and easy to maintain, with an anticipated service life of around 15 to 20 years.

If required, the Expresso converts to a two-man unit with the addition of an extra carry handle, which clips on to the axle. The axle is also curved, making it easier for delivery staff to tilt the truck when loaded. Nylon skids make it easier to ascend or descend stairways without causing any damage.

The unit is also fitted with puncture-proof, nonmarking cushion tyres. The 'silent-running' tyres feature dustproof, maintenance-free ball bearing hub assemblies that are said to make the truck highly manoeuvrable when carrying heavy loads.

The shovel blade footplate is ribbed to prevent load slippage
