Improved logistics performance
October 1st 2005 RedPrairie Corporation, a leader in supply chain technology solutions, has announced that DFDS Transport Solutions will implement its solutions suite as part of a strategic supply chain initiative. The 3PL provider plans to implement the solution across its distribution network serving over 650 clients.
To date DFDS Transport Solutions has been using its own developed legacy system but will now implement RedPrairie DLx Warehouse to improve logistics performance and customer service; DLx Labour to achieve greater operating efficiency and planning; and BillingCtl for automated and accurate billing of 3PL services to clients; and DutyMaster for automated customs management. The system will be implemented in December 2006.
According to Brian Winther Almind, managing director of DFDS, "We undertook a six month comprehensive evaluation of all major supply chain solution providers, and right from the first moment it was readily apparent that RedPrairie understood the requirements of the 3PL sector and how they add value."
Peter Christoffersen, DFDS Transport Solutions project leader says, "RedPrairie’s WMS solution is extremely robust and flexible. We will quickly be in a position to configure the system and train our operators for the rollout ourselves.
