CSL feeds security system October 1st 2005 Conveyor Systems Limited has been awarded a contract to design and supply a handling system to transport stacks of plastic tote trays through an automatic security wrapping system.
In order to provide maximum security for nonfood items in transit, Tesco’s loss prevention manager at the Milton Keynes distribution centre decided to introduce an ‘antipilfering’ process, part of which necessitates tightly wrapping items in tote boxes with red film manufactured specifically for Tesco.
Standard Tesco dollies carry between two to twelve tote boxes, with a total weight of 500kg. These are lifted and positioned on a series of chain conveyors feeding through a stretch wrapper, and off-loaded for marshalling prior to despatch.
CSL provided written functional design specification and fully interfaced the system with the Adpal stretch wrapper. More articles from Conveyor Systems Limited: |
