Quick and easy trailer load transfer

Logistics service provider, Wincanton, is in the process of upgrading two of its Joloda Hydraroll Trailerskate systems. The systems are based at Wincanton's site in Lutterworth, which it runs on behalf of Britvic and, according to Barry Smith, Wincanton's regional engineering manager are "easy to use and far more efficient than the manual alternative".

The Hydraroll Tracks are fitted into the floor of trailers with little modification, having no moving parts. At each site the trailers are docked on to the Joloda Hydraroll Trailerskate dock in which runs a 13.6m skate, transferring the load from dock to trailer and vice versa in one shot. The 26 pallet load is moved in less than two and a half minutes and the whole docking operation is completed in less than seven minutes.
