Distinctive speed restrictors
December 1st 2005

The Tesco Distribution Centre at Prologis Park in Coventry has had Rediweld Sitecop Plus speed restrictors (Sleeping Policemen) installed by Jarvis Contracting in speed sensitive areas around site.

The distinctive units with their triangular yellow markings are a very visible warning to approaching vehicles that they are about to traverse a 'ramp'.

The Rediweld Sitecop Plus is longer from front to back than normal Sleeping Policemen. This means that the ramps either side have a shallower gradient and, therefore, a less severe ascent and descent. As a result, the units provide definite speed control of all vehicles entering the distribution area but large vehicles packed with commodities are not subjected to too much disruption of their loads.

The units are made from quality recycled rubber and are bolted to the tarmac with stainless steel coach screws and nylon 'RediPlugs'. They can, therefore, be relocated should the need arise.
