400 logistics jobs axed February 1st 2010 The logistics industry in the north-west suffered a blow as more than 400 warehouse and distribution staff were laid off as a result of retailer Ethel Austin going into administration.
John Gorle, Usdaw national officer said: “This is devastating news for our members many of whom are long serving, loyal employees. The information we have received says there are 404 redundancies at the distribution centre, 65 at head office and over 100 stores closing.”
