Logistics centre opens doors August 4th 2009 The Logistics Research and Innovation Centre (LRIC) in Manchester is now open to visitors. Built by the Warehouse Technology Group (WTG), a collaboration of 12 equipment suppliers, the aim is give buyers a chance to see equipment in action and provide trainees with genuine, hands on experience of the latest logistics equipment.
The 18,000 square foot LRIC is a fully functioning warehouse, and showcases the latest equipment from the WTG partners: These include state-of-the-art computer management system, pallet racking, mezzanine floors, fire protection sprinklers, and telescopic boom conveyors.
LRIC also provides a fully accredited training environment. Operated by Mantra Learning, delegates gain skills in a wide variety of warehouse related activities as well as apprenticeships and NVQ's in a wide range of logistics activities.
