Rail freight route to Italy June 1st 2010 DB Schenker has launched direct rail freight services between Birmingham and Padova in northern Italy.
The train service builds upon the existing twice weekly freight services from Birmingham to Milan. The service is expected to take 42 hours. The firm claims retailers, food producers and manufacturers can save 24 hours over traditional road haulage.
