RFID standard issued by ISO
February 1st 2010 A new ISO RFID standard has been issued to help trace products in the supply chain. The ISO 17367:2009 standard is designed to help manufacturers and distributors track products and to help manage their traceability.
Craig K Harmon, chair of relevant working committee said: “The standard will provide higher security of products worldwide using RFID technology. It will enable easy and efficient exchange of commodities in international trade and logistics.”
The standard’s recommendations include encoded identification of the product, additional information about the product for inclusion on the RFID tag, semantics and data syntax. More articles from Handling & Storage Solutions: |
