Temperature control cover up exposed!
August 11th 2009

A serious cover up has been exposed in a number of temperature controlled operations around the country. Polar Thermal Products has been found responsible for fabricating a number of specially designed insulated shrouds and cohering with customers to use them to cover up palletised loads to shield them from unwanted temperature deviation.

For the transport and industrial sectors, the expose is big news as it could open up the possibilities for mixed temperature loads, reduce vehicle requirement and lower refrigeration demands.

"This has been a blanket operation across the country and internationally," says exposed Polar manager, Peter Lockett. "Now it's been uncovered we're hoping not too feel too much heat."

Customers implicated include the MoD, 3663, DHL, Kuehne + Nagel, NHS Supply Chain, British Airways and number of pharmaceutical companies amongst others.

Polar has also recently launched the lightweight Pukker Pallet, a 10kg robust solid thermal pallet with a polystyrene core and 3mm polymer skin. The Pukker Pallet has been designed for the cold chain, pharmaceutical, perishable and military industry, closed loop and return situations.
