UPN plans hub re-location April 1st 2010 Pallet network UPN has announced plans to relocate its hub and network services operations to help support growth and further its green credentials.
The new hub will be located at Fradley Park in Lichfield and will open in August. The new facility will allow UPN to double its capacity from 3,000 to 6,000 pallets per night and reduce the road miles travelled by UPN members by over 70,000 miles per annum.
UPN director David Brown said: “A detailed analysis of our operations demonstrated that relocating the hub to a more central location would allow our members to reduce their costs and significantly improve our green credentials, which is vital in the current climate. The recession has forced many businesses to focus hard on the bottom line, so demand for our services is expected to continue growing.
“UPN has been a real success story over recent years and has maintained consistent growth levels.” More articles from Handling & Storage Solutions: |
