Bulk shipping without external refrigerant
August 24th 2005 Softbox Systems and SCA Packaging have developed a method of bulk shipping temperature controlled goods without any need for external refrigeration. The Temperature Controlled Pallet Shipper (TCPS), developed for DHL World Medical, keeps goods between 2°C and 8°C for five days. By removing the need for refrigerant, the expense of renting 'Envirotainers' is negated.
While DHL World Medical will sell the product as part of its logistics service to the life sciences sector, Softbox and SCA are now actively targeting the food and beverage industries.
