New Materials Handling Manager at FTA February 21st 2006 The Freight Transport Association has appointed John Webb as manager - MHE & warehouse operations, reporting to FTA’s director of audit services, Alan Osborne. John joins FTA from Jungheinrich where he was supply contract manager. Previously John had spent 15 years with Asda, leaving as distribution network project manager.
FTA is developing its support work in the materials handling and warehouse sector, including the launch in 2005 of a new inspection service for warehouse and related racking. This key new service stands alongside FTA's long time provision of inspection and training services relating to fork lift trucks.
Alan Osborne, FTA's director of audit services says, “John's appointment gives a national focus for FTA in the provision of services to the warehouse and MHE sectors. The new racking inspection service nicely complements our work inspecting vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, legal, reliable operation. We will be utilising our 40 years' experience in these areas to the benefit of both existing and new clients in the warehouse and materials handling sectors.”
Married with three children, John Webb lives in and operates from Sheffield. John holds a BTech (Hons) degree in mechanical engineering. More articles from Freight Transport Association: |
