UKWA changes membership eligibility
June 26th 2006

The United Kingdom Warehousing Association - the UK's leading trade body for third party warehousing and logistics industry - has undergone major changes to its constitution that will see membership eligibility dramatically widened.

From now on membership is no longer restricted to companies operating in the third party logistics and warehousing sectors. This means retailers, manufacturers and wholesalers will be free to join the Association. The UKWA will now also welcome members from outside the UK.

The way that the Association is run on a day-to-day basis will also change. A newly established board of management will now take key decisions and supplier companies to the third party sector - for instance forklift and racking manufacturers - will be invited to join the empowered management board.
