Toyota's new tow tractors
May 18th 2006

Toyota Industrial Equipment is launching a new, electric, tow tractor range designed to increase productivity in Just-In-Time operations, particularly factories and warehouses where loads are frequently picked and moved over long distances.

The new tow tractor is available in three versions: a 2t stand-on, a 2t sit-on and a 3t sit-on model.

Dave Moore, national customer & sales support manager at Toyota Industrial Equipment comments: “Increasing our product range meets the customer’s growing demand for tow tractors needed for both order picking and efficient horizontal transport of materials to and from production lines.

“Depending on travel distances, intensity of towing and frequency of getting on and off the truck, there is a choice between a stand-on and sit-on version. This ensures we can specify the most productive and ergonomic solution for each application. The two ton stand-on model is particularly suitable for picking applications whereas the two ton and three ton sit-on versions are ideal for horizontal transport.”

Fitted with pneumatic tyres, the tow tractors can effectively transport loads over uneven floors, both inside and outside. These tyres provide extra support to protect the truck’s components and improve driver comfort.

The full range is available with a roll on / roll off battery changing system which ensures quick and easy battery exchange in multi-shift operations.
