New large character inkjet coder
October 12th 2006

Imaje, manufacturer and distributor of industrial coding and marking systems, has recently introduced the Imaje 4020 inkjet coder to its 4000 series of large character printers. The 4020, using “drop on demand” valve technology, replaces the Crayon X-tra and is described by Imaje as its mid-range large character printer, positioned between the Crayon Plus coder and the high resolution 4040 printer.

The 4020 benefits from advanced features, improved printing capabilities and increased connectivity and features intuitive icons with local language menus for quick navigation. The wide-screen backlit graphic display and real time status indicators with printhead detection and low ink level add to the user friendliness.

With individual printing parameters for each printhead the 4020 can control up to 4 printheads and achieve printing speeds of up to 90m/minute. A variable print height from 8mm to 64mm, together with top, bottom and side positioning means that flexibility is further enhanced. The coder can be easily integrated onto a production line and can be connected to a network by way of 2 high speed RS232 ports and an Ethernet port. A selection of inks is available to enable the 4020 to print onto porous, semi-porous and non-porous substrates whilst the 30 litre ink barrel ensures maximum operational time.
