FTA update April 24th 2007 A new president and five new board members have joined the FTA.
Andy Haines is the Freight Transport Association's new president. Haines, an FTA vice president for the last year, heads up Tate & Lyle's European logistics operation. He has accumulated a wealth of supply chain experience since joining Tate & Lyle in 1979. Tellingly, his interests include long distance running.
Five new members also join the FTA's National Executive Board (NEB) this year: Roger Burnley (supply chain director at Sainsbury's), Eddie Fitzsimons (chief executive of Freightliner Group), Stewart Oades (Group chief executive, Christian Salvesen), Alastair Parker (Global Business Manager – Logistics, Shell) and Perry Watts (CEO – Retail & Consumer, DHL).
