Bendi plans articulated yard truck December 20th 2007 Translift Bendi plans to build a yard version of its articulated truck in 2008, managing director Simon Brown told Handling & Storage solutions. Priced around £20,000 Brown believes it will attract firms looking to replace a counterbalance and reach truck with one unit.
"We're in the final stages of testing," says Brown. "It will be a bit wider with a bit less reach but much higher capacity with big tyres that can run across kerbs and potholes."
Translift will also launch to AC versions of its current VNA Bendi next year, and is honing another concept for Europe: an articulated truck that can overcome the issue of open-bottomed pallets.
Currently the company is completing a factory extension to facilitate further growth. According to Brown, the company saw 80 per cent year on year growth this year. The extension will deliver around 55 per cent increased capacity.
