Damage deterrent keeps goods good
December 20th 2007

Communications equipment manufacturer Trilogy is reducing damaged goods using Lamerholm's ShockWatch deterrent labels.

"Our products are shipped throughout the world but a larger than acceptable percentage were arriving at their destination damaged, so we took action," says production engineer, Doug Lyon.

Using ShockWatch labels, which are self adhesive highly visible labels that indicate when a product has been subject to an impact above a specified G-level, Trilogy has seen positive results.

"On the first batch of 50 only one package had activated the impact device. Previously we had seen as many as 20 products damaged per batch," says Lyon. "Having the label on the product and the device visibly activated, we also received compensation from the courier. A good result all round."
