Aisle-Master is fittest solution for Elverys Sports
June 18th 2007

Rapid expansion at Ireland’s leisure and sports retailer Elverys Sports, led to the opening of a second warehouse at its central distribution operation in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

Elverys says it planned the configuration of the new store around the capabilities of its LPG powered Aisle-Master in order to improve on storage density in the original warehouse. By reducing aisle-widths and using the 10.5m mast to exploit all vertical space, the total pallet spaces number 850 – almost double the amount that could have been accommodated using the old combination of counterbalance and reach trucks.

“The benefits you can achieve just by choosing a different forklift are amazing,” comments warehouse manager, Ian Place.

Place says he has also noticed a marked increase in productivity due to the truck’s versatility to be deployed wherever it is needed on site.

With super-elastic tyres and hydrostatic drive, it is equally at home within aisles in the warehouse or outside for offloading. He is also full of praise for the Aisle-Master’s “absolute reliability” – a vital benefit as business continues to grow and Elvery’s internet business expands. Aisle-Masters can work in aisles of just 1.75m, with capacities to 2 tonnes and lift heights of up to 11.5 metres.

Electric and LPG power is available - all LPG models are fitted with 3-way catalytic converters as standard. Build quality and a realiable track record are a key features of the Aisle-Master range. The company will happily arrange a site visit so that its dedicated warehouse planning team can come up with layout proposals on how to improve storage.
