Doosan’s technikal expertise June 18th 2007 Plastics specialist, Thompson Technik, is the latest to give Doosan forklifts the seal of approval, by agreeing to a new £120k contract hire package with Gateshead-based Doosan dealer SEV.
Established in 1977, and part of the £39 million turnover Thompson Group, Thompson Technik has agreed the deal for its production site in Houghton-le-Spring. Manufacturing a wide range of plastic products, the company has taken delivery of five Doosan G25P forklift trucks to replace its existing fleet.
SEV Group has had a strong working relationship with Thompson Technik for over a decade, supplying hire equipment and maintaining its fleet. The Doosan trucks not only proved the most cost effective solution for the site, they also proved popular with Thompson Technik’s operators, as Plant Manager, Iain Douglas explains: ‘We chose Doosan because the product is rugged, reliable and proven on-site. Our operators also tried several other makes, with Doosan coming out on top. SEV was able to offer a flexible and cost effective package that sealed the deal.’
Jimmy Quinn, Business Development Manager for the SEV Group believes the combination of good product and aftersales care has helped them maintain a long-term understanding of the customer’s needs.
“SEV has maintained the site for over 10 years and despite strong competition, the Doosan product and the support we have offered has ensured our continued success. We are of course delighted to be extending the link between our two companies and we take great pleasure from seeing Thompson Technik growing and benefiting from the services we provide,” explains Quinn.
Doosan offers a 99-strong range of electric, gas and diesel models from 1.0 tonnes to 16.0 tonnes capacity.
