METRO and Toshiba collaborate on RFID trial October 31st 2007 Toshiba TEC is partnering the Metro Group in its Future Store Initiative, which the two claim is 'probably' the most in depth RFID item level trial in an in store environment.
Taking place at Metro's Galeria Kaufhof department store in Essen, Germany, the trial is using Toshiba's B-SA4 desktop printer fitted with RFID modules that allow adjustments to the item level RFID system during the trial. Galeria Kaufhof has been using RFID in its WMS since 2004.
The trial will run until February next year.
