New Crown low level order pickers October 31st 2007 Crown says its new German-made GPC 3000 Series low level order pickers are designed to make life easier for operators, boosting picking efficiency.
Analysing the order picking process, Crown found up to 90 per cent of the picking cycle is spent off the truck. So it concentrated on features which reduce and simplify the operator's movement while performing 'off-truck' tasks. These include:
Work Assist - accessories to enhance convenience and safety, including a clip pad, scan-gun holder, rubbish bag holder and stretch wrap holder, plus load trays and storage pouches.
Pick Position Control - a responsive control system that enables better handling, and allows the operator to move the truck to close picking locations without having to get on board, saving time and effort. It can be controlled from inside or outside the truck.
Fold down step - allowing operators to reach tall loads or goods store up to a height of two metres. Crown says this helps operators to pick rapidly and enabled greater cube utilisation within the warehouse.
The range spans 2t - 2.7t capacities and is available with a range of fork lengths, optional features and different battery compartment sizes. It includes models with lifting forks for either one or two pallets and the option of platform lift for second level picking.
For operator comfort it has a wide access and walk through area and low step height of 130mm.
For smooth operation and energy efficiency it features an e-Gen braking system and Access 1 2 3 control and diagnostic system.
